I must use the wrong material, my head wraps when I try to pull my hair up slide right off my curls

I had issues with breakage and roughness on the temple area on both sides and on the back of my hair on both sides. Those parts of my scalp always got sore. Lately when I detangle I’ve been conscious of brushing my hair with the grain so all my curls are going in their natural direction. My hair is really dense so I give extra attention to those areas now and they improved so much. I also stopped putting oil on my scalp.

Wow I'm suffering from the same thing you're describing here! I'm going to try your method and see if it helps. I'm nervous because your hair for the most part is slightly looser or finer than mine, but hopefully I can implement this

Girl, that suits you so well!! Really impressive work, and it's giving me some ideas for styles I might want to try (still at a salon, most likely, because trying to style my own hair much is way too much of an exercise in frustration. One notable exception being flat twists; your tutorial has been the main one I've used and I also recommend it to other folks. It's just been a while since I've used the style because it seemed to put too much strain on my hairline after a while. 🥺 But I was loving it in the meantime, lol. It's such a good low-maintenance style that looks really elegant and is quick to do.)
